Justin Bieber waved to the media as he was released from jail this afternoon.
The 19-year-old singer had earlier appeared in court by video link after he was arrested for drunk driving and resisting arrest while allegedly drag racing in Miami early this morning.
He looked emotionless and fidgeted as he heard his bail set at $2,500.
Police arrested the pop star as he drove a bright yellow Lamborghini at up to 60mph in a 30mph speed limit zone while allegedly racing Def Jam rapper Khalil Sharief who was driving a Ferrari.
He had spent a night partying with model Chantel Jeffries and allegedly admitted to officers that he had been smoking marijuana ‘all day’, taking anti-depressants and drinking beer when he was stopped at 4am.
And although the singer appeared stoic as he appeared in court, he allegedly broke down in tears when he returned to his cell, according to People.
RadarOnline maintained, however, his mood was very different before he appeared on camera – the star was reportedly heard mumbling to himself and giggling, which the site’s source attributed to him still being ‘under the influence.’
The star also told police it was his mother Pattie Mallette who gave him Xanax, one of the prescription drugs he was on during his arrest, according to TMZ. The site also reported his blood alcohol content was .04; Florida has no tolerance for underage drunk drivers.
After being released he hid behind black sunglasses and a hoodie as he entered a waiting car.
Bieber has reportedly hired attorney Roy Black to represent him.
MailOnline has also learned that Bieber’s father Jeremy was among the star’s entourage as he raced along Miami Beach.
The singer has been charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving without a licence.
Hours after the arrest, Police Chief Raymond Martinez confirmed that the performer used the F word repeatedly after being stopped and kept putting his hands in his pocket.
The star is accused of confronting police when they stopped him, asking the officer: ‘What the f*** did I do? Why did you stop me? I ain’t got no f***ing weapons. Why do you have to search me? What the f*** is this about?’
Justin, who was in handcuffs as he was escorted to a county jail, looked depressed as he stood before the judge this afternoon.
With his hair still coiffed into a slick Elvis Presley-style up-wave from the night before, but devoid of the gold earrings and chains he wore during his arrest, Justin appeared to already be hungover.
He moved his head from side to side and seemed to chew the inside of his cheek as he listened to the judge’s remarks.
Bieber’s bail was broken down by the judge as such: $1,000 for resisting arrest, $1,000 for his DUI and $500 for driving with an expired driver’s license.
His friend Khalil Sharief, a 19-year-old rapper signed to Def Jam Records, was also arrested and his mug shot was taken.
His bail was set at $1,000 for a DUI.
MailOnline has learned Justin has a jet waiting to take him back to California.
‘Those close to Justin are extremely interested in him going to rehab,’ a source told MailOnline.
‘He needs to be treated for behavioral issues and a recreational use of drugs. But he has so far been vehemently opposed to going.’
According to the police report, Justin used the F word repeatedly after being pulled over for drag racing.
‘Why did you stop me?’ said the singer. The officer noted he stopped him because he was drag racing, and in his report, noted Bieber had ‘bloodshot eyes.’
After the officer asked the Believe star to step out of the car, he said, ‘Why the f*** are you doing this?’
