It seems like only yesterday when Michelle Williams was playing a troubled teen on TV’s Dawson’s Creek.
My oh my, how time flies: On Monday the single mother turned 33.
The Blue Valentine actress was spotted on her way to a celebration on her big day in Brooklyn as her little Mini Me, daughter Matilda Ledger, 7, trailed behind.
The two wore very different outfits, but both looked equally stylish.
Matilda chose a carefree summer look with a blue and green sleeveless, drop-waist dress complete with two tiers on the bottom.
She added more colour to her ensemble with hot pink sunglasses and tomato red sandals.
The budding fashionista added green and black bracelets, and gold necklaces for a fully accessorized look.
Michelle, on the other hand, looked more attired for early autumn. She wore an unzipped brown motorcycle jacket with a black-and-white button-down shirt and blue skinny jeans. High-heeled black clogs gave the look a ‘lift’ and a large black purse looked just right. The actress has been trying to grow out her pixie haircut, according to her stylist Chris MacMillan, and now has a nearly layered bob cut.
The two have done stunningly well since the shocking, tragic death of Matilda’s father, Heath Ledger, in January 2008.
Not only does Matilda seems to be growing up very well, but her mother has seen success after success.
At the time Michelle and Heath, who met on the set of the critically acclaimed Brokeback Mountain, were already split up and the actress was raising their daughter, who was two-years-old when she suffered her loss.
In 2010 the former TV queen starred in the massive hit Shutter Island opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.
In 2011 she took home a Golden Globe award for her convincing turn as Hollywood’s greatest blonde icon Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn.
Not one to shy away from challenges, in 2014 the beauty will star as Sally Bowles in the Broadway revival of Cabaret opposite Alan Cummings. Michelle is filling the shoes of Liza Minnelli, who reportedly already approved of the actress’ casting.
And in a testament to her approval from the fashion world, the stunner has been cast as the face of Louis Vuitton handbags.

In the October 2011 issue of Vogue the siren confessed she had difficulty with her ex’s passing.
‘For a really long time, I couldn’t stop touching people’s faces,’ she said.
‘I was like, “Look at you. You move. You’re here.” It all just seemed so fleeting, and I wanted to hold on to it.’
Losing the Australian actor also reshaped who she was.
‘[The death has] changed how I see the world and how I interact on a daily basis. It’s changed the parent I am. It’s changed the friend I am.
It’s changed the kind of work that I really want to do. It’s become the lens through which I see life — that it’s all impermanent.’
Michelle has yet to find true love.
In 2008 she dated director Spike Jonze, 43. After a year they split and in 2012 she started dating How I Met Your Mother actor Jason Segel, 33, who flew to Brooklyn often to spend time with the actress and her daughter.
They split earlier this year, and in June it was reported that Michelle was seeing artist Justin Yellin, 38.
