The cray cray continues in the wacky world of Miley Cyrus.
The 20-year old singer opted for food cartoon jogging bottoms and jumper with stuffed unicorn slippers to board a flight out of New Jersey on Tuesday night.
Chatting on her phone and carrying a Chanel heart-shaped handbag, this was one pyjama-like look that wasn’t going to be appearing on any Best Dressed lists.
Cyrus was leaving New York after filming her latest music video and making a small appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Rocking a weird double knot hairdo, Miley looked like a character from kids cartoon Arthur, making her the perfect target for ridicule – one website said her latex nude lingerie outfit made her look like the backend of a raw turkey.
Little monster Miley
Another day, another in-your-face outfit for Miley. And this time it’s all-over-print matching sweater and joggers. But wait, what are those on her feet? Only Unicorn slippers too!
This little set is actually from Topshop. Yes, you heard us, TOPSHOP. And that means no humongous price tag. Both feature a fun cartoon-y print, with the word MONSTER appearing all over them both.
Tee And Cake, the brand responsible for the joggers and sweater, often use cartoon eye balls, monsters and imagery to bring their clothes to life. Graphic designer Lydia Davie who came up with this particular print, was seen tweeting: “Just seen a picture of @MileyCyrus wearing my design! My tracksuit! Hope you love it!!”
And yes, we love it!
Miley likes to have fun with her looks, and do you know what? We love to see her having fun too. She’s young, up for experimenting and with most designers and brands throwing clothes at her to be seen in, it’s nice to see her still sticking to her fashion-fun state of mind.
What a comfy flying outfit too!
The We Can’t Stop singer’s desperately bizarre attempts to set herself apart from her Disney girl image seems to be going more in the direction of Amanda Bynes than Selena Gomez.
But in a recent interview, the former Hannah Montana star has admitted she ‘has issues.’
Speaking to the Sunday People, she said: ‘I have so many f***ing issues. I am so f***ed up – everyone does dumb stuff when they are messed up.
‘I don’t have a normal life. I take a hiatus every now and again but I’m not good at that.’
The 20-year-old singer and actress became a household name thanks to the global success of Hannah Montana, and she says the rigorous touring and TV appearances that came with promoting it gave her a strong work ethic.
She said: ‘All I do is work, so I eat to live and to keep going. People are impressed with me because I can sleep for just 45 minutes – I’m used to it.
‘I suppose I am a workhorse. I love being in the studio and when I take vacation I get so bored. I think of work as something that I have to do.’
That work includes the imminent release of new album Bangerz, the release she hopes will hammer the final nail in Hannah Montana’s coffin.
‘My last record I feel so disconnected from – I was 16 or 17 when I made it. When you’re in your 20’s, you just don’t really know that person anymore.’
